Why UNIO Exists

UNIO is an association which aims to safeguard and promote the interests of all Professional Women Cycling Teams worldwide and to work with all cycling stakeholders in order to guarantee a sustainable future for all Professional Women Cycling Teams and Women’s Cycling in general.

UNIO provides a platform for all the teams to discuss their concerns, develop ideas, adopt concrete solutions, be united and have a stronger voice towards all cycling stakeholders, for a better future for Women’s Cycling.

We are better together than working apart. UNIO is:

Working for a healthy development of women’s cycling at all levels;

Working with all other cycling stakeholders and negotiating concrete solutions (e.g. optimizing the race calendar and the prize money distribution, reform the system of travel expenses reimbursement and other ways to reduce the team’s expenses, etc.);

Representing the interests of all its members before the national and international cycling governing bodies;

Developing benefits programs and providing assistance to all its members, in any field of interest, such as the development of the sport of cycling, technical improvements, good practices in medicine and health, economic development, marketing and communication tools, insurances pooling, legal and contractual assistance, etc.

UNIO is a completely free of charge new service provider for all Women’s Cycling Teams that has already received a full institutional support from the UCI.
