UNIO, the new association which aims to safeguard and promote the interests of Professional Women Cycling Teams worldwide has been hard at work since launching publicly in February.

We’re pleased to reveal the membership is growing following insightful conversations between interested team management and UNIO executives.

The media has shown great interest in the association and we’re proud to present you with two lengthy articles published by two important role players in the media.

Cyclingnews.com – Coronavirus: The future of women’s teams is in jeopardy

“Cyclingnews spoke with Ronny Lauke, president of the newly formed teams union called UNIO, who believes that in the aftermath of the global pandemic where business are struggling, sponsorship funding is cut and jobs are lost, it is possible that some women’s teams will not survive.”

Cyclist.co.uk – Bridging the inequality gap? UNIO is the new union for the women’s peloton

“UNIO will be an association uniting the interests of professional women’s teams. Currently, there are many associations representing men’s teams and riders, associations for race organisers and female riders have the CPA and Cyclists’ Alliance to rely on but nothing for women’s teams.”

UNIO’s slogan Better Together is as an ethos to grow the sport by uniting all stakeholders for a sustainable future. Now more than ever, we believe the sports needs to have a united voice to face the challenges that are threatening the future of many stakeholders.
